OSHA’s Process Safety Management

 

Protexus’ Process Safety Management Training was developed for Managers, Process Safety and Risk Management Coordinators, and others responsible for satisfying OSHA regulatory requirements. The objective of the training for participants is to understand and interpret the performance-based requirements of the OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) regulation, and the prevention program portion of the EPA Risk Management Program (RMP) rule, and to better understand how to implement a cost-effective PSM program for your facility. 

 

Level 1 Operator (on-site training)

Duration – 40 hours

 

Description – This training is designed to provide system operators knowledge of operating your company’s refrigeration system using company P&IDs, SOPs and PM programs. This course will assist in providing your operators knowledge to safely perform their job functions. This course is taught by a 25-year veteran of the ammonia refrigeration industry. The training will include classroom and hands-on in your facility. Quizzes will be given daily to test the operators understanding of the topics covered.  At the completion of the course a participation certificate will be provided to each participant.

 

The training course will cover:

  • Basic Refrigeration Facts/Principles/Functions and Industry Practices

  • P&IDs and their Function

  • Standard Operating Procedures and their important to operators

  • Logbooks and Maintenance Logbooks

  • Daily Rounds 

  • Compressors

  • Vessels

    • U1As

    • Certified Drawings

  • Condensers

  • Auto Purgers

  • Evaporators

  • Piping

  • Pumps

  • Heat Exchangers

 

Level II Operator Training (on-site training)

Duration – 40 hours

 

The Protexus Operator 2 Training Course is designed to provide system operators with the next level of training on the ammonia refrigeration system. This course is taught by a 25-year veteran of the ammonia refrigeration industry. The training will include classroom and hands-on in your facility. Quizzes will be given daily to test the operators understanding of the topics covered. .  At the completion of the course a participation certificate will be provided to each participant.

The training course will cover:

  • Heat Transfer Principles

  • Mollier Pressure-Enthalpy Diagram

  • Introduction to The Air/Water Relationship

  • Low Side Liquid Feed Valves and Controls 

  • Direct Expansion Systems

  • Liquid Overfeed Systems

  • Gravity Flooded System Design

  • Secondary Coolant Systems

  • Two-Stage Systems

  • Evaporator Defrost
